  • Advocate for just and fair housing policy
  • Promote dignity and hope through equitable, accountable partnerships
  • Support sustainable and transformative development

As a construction volunteer, you (and your team) do the important building work on homes at our sites throughout Pierce and St. Croix Counties.  Don't worry, construction experience is NOT necessary.  We have a great team who will help you learn!

Do you need some volunteer hours for your club or organization?  Join us as a summer volunteer on our New Richmond build or our River Falls Rock the Block event in the Fall.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate; age appropriate activities will be determined for volunteers under 18.

Each volunteer must complete an annual safety waiver when coming to a work site - this release must be completed in order to begin work.  Here's a look at what a typical day may be.

Sign up to volunteer here!

If you are interested in private volunteer build days, please call (715.350.8575) or email info@scvhabitat.or

Committees are an integral part of making our organization work!  There are many opportunities to join us on a year-round basis:

  • Faith Relations Committee: Connect with faith organizations to coordinate volunteer and giving efforts and connections with our new families.
  • Human Resources Committee: Support the staff and volunteers  with general advice, support and direction on personnel related matters.
  • Public Relations Committee:  Help with newsletters, media outreach, sharing our work/mission with other community members and groups.
  • Fundraising Committee:  Identifying and approaching potential donors, developing fundraising materials and help with grant writing.
  • Site Selection and Construction Committee: This two-part group helps plan future builds, supports construction staff and chair and also connects our organization with long-term strategic plans for land development and purchase, including working with local government and developers to help ensure future lots are available and buildable for partner families.
  • Family Selection Committee: This committee interviews and researches applicant partner families to present to the board for consideration.
  • Family Support Committee: In this role, volunteers work with families before and after construction as they transition into ownership and help with budgeting and home maintenance tips.
  • Volunteer Relations Committee:  Organize and contact volunteers to set up times/places for volunteer opportunities, including in the office and on the job site or other outreach efforts.  Tracks volunteer hours and sets criteria for volunteer recognition.

If you are interested in joining a committee and would like to know more, please call Kailey at (715.350.8575) or email info@scvhabitat.org
