Our story

We envision communities where families plant their roots, know their neighbors and grow together. The essential ingredient for homeowner success is knowledge and support. 

With a focus on fiscal responsibility, we work to serve more parents, grandparents, guardians, and most importantly – children, to construct quality houses that are sold to homebuyer families through no-profit, no-interest loans. 

Homebuyers complete 250 to 500 sweat-equity hours and other requirements, pay for their homes, property taxes and all upkeep, and maintain current payments on their properties. 

Dedicated staff members support the efforts of hundreds of volunteers to raise funds, qualify homeowner applicants, build houses, provide administrative support, and much more.

In 1996, a group of concerned and motivated individuals in River Falls, WI. and surrounding communities founded our local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.

In 2014, we developed the first neighborhood-scale project of its kind to combine cutting edge, energy efficient technology, durable building materials, and renewable energy generation in our Eco Village project, which included 18 homes in River Falls. 

Today we are a thriving organization in Pierce and St, Croix Counties.  We have partnered with more than 70 families to help achieve the goal of  home ownership.

By connecting with working families, sponsors, and communities to build affordable, sustainable, quality homes, we know that lives are changing.
